SHELLY WHITE OT/L
Helping Students Succeed
My goal is to serve children who experience challenges impacting school performance in order to make learning accessible and outcomes optimal. Students may experience difficulties due to a variety of reasons, including attention deficits, anxiety, depression, learning differences, or delays in fine motor or executive functioning skills. Students that would benefit from these services may struggle with initiating work, planning, organizing, time management, turning in work, handwriting, developing writing skills, communicating with teachers, or problem-solving through challenges. My passion is guiding students through the process of overcoming these challenges.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SERVICES
I’m an experienced Occupational Therapist offering a wide range of services in an individualized way to suit your child's needs. Contact me today to find out how I can help. I’m looking forward to partnering with you.
HOMEWORK HELP
As a Licensed Occupational Therapist, I have extensive experience using specialized strategies to improve underlying skills needed for school success. I utilize homework as a therapeutic activity, as well as a collaborative and individualized approach that allows me to attend to details and cater to the unique needs of each client.
HANDWRITING REMEDIATION & WRITING SKILLS
Handwriting remediation and the development of writing skills are two of my favorite areas to address in order to help kids be more efficient throughout their school day.
Handwriting practice, both print and cursive, is a research proven method for building age appropriate executive functioning skills, such as self-monitoring, attending to details, and following multiple step directions.
It is never too late to refine handwriting skills! Call today to secure a spot in one of my groups or discuss individual therapy options.

I have over 20 years of experience as an occupational therapist, complimented by the added experience of teaching at the high school and college level. I love to equip students and their families with skills and strategies that can improve academic performance and carry over for success in other life roles. I enjoy serving as a support for not only students, but parents and teachers, using a collaborative model to help students reach age-appropriate abilities in their home and school environments.

I earned my Occupational Therapy degree in 1998 from Eastern Kentucky University. I have worked in diverse settings to help clients achieve independence and self-confidence. My career as a teacher and therapist, along with being a mother of five children, has allowed me to experience the challenges of a struggling student from all perspectives. I look forward to serving your student and family.
